Tucker's Birth Story

We have a secret in our culture, and it’s not that birth is painful. It’s that women are strong."

The Wallaces moved into their new home just one week before their little Tucker made his arrival. Grace was set on having a vbac after her twin c-section birth but after further research on what she was wanting, decided to make it a homebirth!

She was induced at 37 weeks on a Thursday evening with a Foley Bulb due to finding out she has a liver condition (ICP) that made her extremely itchy and can cause still birth. By Friday at noon, she was dilated to a 5 so her midwife broke her water to keep labor progressing. Grace labored consistently throughout the rest of the day and into the evening. She had a wonderful birth team who encouraged her and helped comfort her through the waves. Tucker was posterior for most of her labor but the midwife was able to turn him just moments before he came earthside. Sweet baby was born with his hand up on his cheek at 10:01pm! They had decided to keep the gender a surprise but Grace was SURE baby was a boy and she was not shocked at all she was correct! Within hours, the three of them were tucked into bed and ready for a good night’s sleep.
